The Sun is authoritative by nature. The planets friendly to it are Moon, Jupiter and Mars. The enemy planets include Saturn and Venus. For Mercury, it is neutral.

• Trikona Houses: The Sun within the 5th, 1st or ninth place of the birth chart is considered to be lucky. These houses are referred to as Trikonas which represent intelligence, creativity, spirituality, and luck. If the Sun is positioned in any of these houses, they are believed to bring positive results.
• The Sun rules the 5th house which is Leo. Sun is the Lord of the fifth house too as the Sun is elevated in Aries. If the Sun is transiting and the Sun is situated at 10 degrees within the sign Aries, it is favourable since it is in an exalted state. On the other hand, the Sun is subdued when it is located at 10 degrees in the sign of Libra.

• Bhaskar Yoga: When Jupiter is in the 5th or 9th house from the moon, the moon is in the 11th house from Mercury and Mercury is in the 2nd house from the sun, this yoga forms. It rewards natives with richness of character and wealth.
• Vaasi Yoga: When except the moon there is some other planet at the 12th house from the Sun, this Yoga forms. Depending on the nearness of that planet to the sun, Vaasi Yoga can be beneficial or detrimental.  A benefic yoga makes the native rational and competent along with extraordinary character.
• Veshi Yoga: When except the moon there is some other planet in the 2nd house from the Sun, this yoga forms. Same as Vaasi Yoga, depending upon the nearness of the planet, it can be detrimental or beneficial.
