Rituals to be performed before construction of the house

As per Vaastu Shastra, before beginning the construction of the house, this Bhoomi Pooja should be conducted on an auspicious day. A day is considered auspicious for this when the Panchanga of the day – Karan, Yoga, Tithi, Nakshatra and Dina is favourable for the natives. Before performing the pooja, the clearance of the site should be done.

For the year 2023, you should consider the following dates for construction:

• January 14: Pertaining to the solar month of Magh, the sun will be in Makar during this time. This date is ideal for beginning construction for a house facing east or west, construction on this house will attract financial gains.
• February 14: Pertaining to the solar month of Falgun, the sun will be in Kumbh, This date is ideal for beginning construction for a house facing east or west, construction on this house will attract gains in jewellery and gold.
• April 14: Pertaining to Baisakh, the sun will be in mesh, this date is ideal for beginning construction for a house facing north/south.
• May 14: During Jestha, Sun will be in Vrish, It will be ideal to begin construction of houses facing south or north, wealth will increase by construction during this time.
• August 14: In the month of Bhadrapada, when the sun will be in Kanya rashi, construction of houses facing west or east direction will be beneficial.
• October 14: In Kartik, when the sun is in Tula, the construction of houses facing north or south direction will bring happiness and comfort to the natives.
• November 14: The native will have financial gains by beginning construction activities in the month of Margashirsha/Agrahāyaṇa of houses that are facing north or south directions.

Dates you should avoid for construction during 2023:

• March 14: Pertaining to the solar month of Chaitra, the sun will be in Mesh. You must avoid initiating construction on this day as it will attract loss.
• June 14: During the month of Asadha, when the Sun will be in Mithun, construction activities will bring a loss of wealth.
• September 14: In the month of Ashwin, the Sun will be in Singha rashi, construction of houses will cause loss to the natives.
• December 14: At the end of the year, Paush month construction will be inauspicious and the natives will have to suffer loss on various fronts.
