Mangal Dosha is still one of the most dreaded dosh in astrology. Even people who are laymen in the Vedic knowledge have heard of this dosha.

This dosha is also known as Kuja Dosha or Bhom Dosha. It occurs when Mars is in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th house from Lagna (and also the 5th and 2nd houses according to South India form of astrology) in a person’s birth chart. The person who has mangal dosh is called Manglik.

Since this dosha is calculated from the Moon, Venus and Lagna; there are different kinds of this dosha. • A person having Low Manglik Dosha or Partial Manglik Dosha must do puja for mangal shanti.
• The marriage of two manglik cancels out the effect.
• Fasting on Tuesdays
• Reciting Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays. Gayatri mantra chanting on other days is also considered effective.
• Chanting Navagraha mantra or mangal mantra on Tuesdays. Donating food items such as sweet and red things. Visiting Navagraha temple is considered auspicious and beneficial for people with this dosha.
• Also, mangliks are often advised to get married after completion of 28 years of age since after that, the severity of the dosh decreases.
