The first solar eclipse of the year will take place today, on the night of 8, 2024. The solar eclipse will start at 9.12 pm Indian Standard Time and end at 2.22 pm. The total duration of the eclipse will be 5 hours and 10 minutes. It will be night in India during this time; hence, this complete solar eclipse will not be visible in India.

Today’s eclipse is particularly special because the last total solar eclipse of this length occurred in 1970, and the next one won’t occur until 2078.

The day is Chaitra Krishna Paksha Amavasya, according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar. This total solar eclipse will not be visible from India, so it is not religiously significant. However, it will have an impact on our lives and the world from an astrological perspective.
