Mangal Dosha

Mangal Dosha, also known as Kuja Dosha is called Mangalik Dosha and is one of the most malefic events in any individual’s birth chart. The Mangal Dosh occurs ‌in a chart when the planet Mars (Mangal) is found in the ascendant house or 1st house, 4th house, 7th house, 8th house and 12th house.

In South Indian astrology, the placement of Mars (Mangal) in the 2nd house is also considered Mangal Dosha by many astrologers. However, if Mars is sitting in these houses (Aries, Scorpio, or Capricorn) or in the houses owned by a planet that has a friendly relation with Mars (Sun, Jupiter, Moon), the Mangal dosha is nullified.

Effects of Mangal Dosha

Vedic Astrology states that the Chandra Dosha develops when the Moon is unfavourably positioned in the horoscope. There are numerous planetary configurations that can weaken or harm the Moon. Nonetheless, the conjunction of Rahu and Moon is the most significant element that creates this dosha.

Also, when Rahu aspects the Moon in the horoscope or when the Moon forms a conjunction with Ketu, Chandra Dosha is produced.

When the Moon is positioned in a malefic place in the horoscope, it has a negative effect. Also if a bad planet aspect on the moon is in the chart it results in Chandra Dosha. It is Chandra Dosha if there is a sun-moon conjunction in your horoscope.

Gandmool Dosha

When one’s natal moon coincides with any of the six of the 27 stars that make up their planetary alignment, the Gandmool Dosha occurs. The six nakshatras known to be controlled by Rahu and Ketu are Ashwini, Revati, Magha, Ashlesha, Jyestha, and Moola.

This dosha is seen as a negative since it affects both men and women badly.

Effects of the Gandamool Dosha

Shukra Dosha

Kaal Sarp Dosha

This condition occurs when Rahu is in the 10th house, Ketu is in the 4th house and all the planets are squeezed in between. Kaal Sarpa Yoga occurs when the seven planets namely, Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are contained between Rahu and Ketu.

Pitru Dosha

The word Pitru Dosha itself reveals that it signifies “Pitru,” which is Sanskrit for “forefather.” Therefore, the word Pitru denotes parental ancestry. Pitru Dosh refers to carrying the weight of bad karma or sins committed by ancestors. Any individual who has any criminal, mistaken, or sinful ancestors gets Pitru Dosh in their horoscope. The bearer needs to make atone for the sins through punitive measures.

If the Sun and/or Jupiter is in the Kundli sitting with or have the aspect of Rahu or Ketu, it gives some of the ill effects of pitru dosha.

If the sun and rahu, or sun and saturn are in the first, second, fourth, seventh, ninth, or tenth houses of the birth chart, pitru dosha occurs in the native’s chart.

Effects of Pitru Dosha

The most visible effects are children falling sick frequently; the couple having problems ‌conceiving the child; the couple experiencing frequent miscarriages; only a girl child conceived recurrently and quarrels with family members without any reason. • Recite the pitru dosha nivaran mantra.
• Feed Brahmins on Amavasya.
• Offer water to Shivlinga
• Besides, people also perform Pind Daan to get rid of pitru dosha effects.
• Donate food, clothes and blankets on the day of Ardh – Kumbh – Snan.
• Offer water to the Banyan tree regularly.

However, one must bear in mind that only applying remedies and not actually stopping bad karma will not do wonders. For instance, one can not keep disrespecting elders and donate during Pitraka Paksha to rectify the Pitra Dosha. Brahma’s ultimate law says clearly a person has to repent for every bad karma.
