If you can afford, get it coloured afresh, if you cannot afford just clean, unclutter, remove all foul smells and keep things in order. Remove all Dirty and Broken Things from Your House

This is essential as in Vastu Shastra it is believed dirty and broken things bring negative energy into your house. Anything that is broken and not in use and cannot be repaired should be removed from the house. 

Swastik On The Main Door

Put a Swastik or make a Swastik on the main door of your house or the entrance of your house. Swastik is believed to be auspicious for a home entrance. Plant Tulsi In The House

Light Akhand Jyot 

Lighting of diya or jyot is an essential part of any Sanatan Hindu puja and festival. During Navratri, devotees light Akhand jyot as it is believed Navratri puja is incomplete without akhand jyot. Akhand jyot means infinite light. It is believed that lighting it during Navratri right from the first day of ‌Navratri is auspicious. It brings good luck, happiness and good fortune to the home. Make sure you light it on the first day of ‌Navratri. Also, never place Akhand jyot directly on the ground, use a platform. Consult your Pandit ji to know the correct way to place and light Akhand jyot. 

Perform Kanya Puja and Prepare Bhog

In Sanatan Hindu dharma, Kanya Puja is a very auspicious ritual and tradition that devotees usually perform during Navratris. So, perform Kanya puja on Ashtami or Navami at your home. Prepare Bhog for the young girls (Kanyas) as they are believed to be the embodiment of Devi Durga. During the puja, offer the Bhog to the Kanyas and make sure they have the Bhog while sitting on the ground. Also, they must be facing the east or west direction while having their Bhog.
